About UsEmily de Schweinitz Taylor
Like you, I deal with conflict every day to greater or lesser degrees. Motivated by my studies and life experiences, I am dedicated to sharing practical, every day conflict resolution principles and communication skills with individuals, families, and organizations . I am a certified mediator, a conflict coach, a writer, and a communications trainer. I recently transitioned from serving as the assistant director of BYU Law's Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution to beginning a Ph.D. program in developmental psychology. Most importantly, I am the mother of five growing children (aged 12-18 years old) who daily teach me important lessons about effective conflict resolution. Following my undergraduate studies in French and socio-cultural anthropology, I earned a master's in international policy from the University of Chicago. After my schooling, I worked at Cisco Systems as an international government relations manager and Rotary International as a public relations specialist. In 2015, I graduated from a University of Denver’s master’s program in communications focused on conflict resolution. As a writer, I published my first full-length book entitled, Raising Mediators, in 2017 . I also continue to write blogs for both my Raising Mediators and Conflict Fluent web sites and regularly produce radio segments on conflict resolution topics with BYU Radio shows. In 2021, I published my second book entitled Conflict Fluent: Mastering the Five Conflict Approaches, which is focused on exploring and implementing the five approaches to conflict in our lives! Watch this video to learn about the five conflict approaches. |
